Skiler's Hobbies

DIY Handyman
This may seem like a strange hobby to most, but I enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of taking something broken and making it into something better. I consider myself a handyman “in training” because every project is a new beast and requires creative thinking, problem solving, and new skill development.
Adventure Riding & Off-Roading
This is a newer hobby and has long been a childhood dream of mine. I can remember wedging pop cans between my bike tires and the frame in an attempt to make the most noise possible, pretending it was the rumble of dirt bike as my friends and I raced around. Previously, I had a a 2012 Yamaha Grizzly 450, but recently I have been riding a 2004 Honda 650L and have gone on multiple multi-day adventure rides which were trips of a lifetime. I recorded and edited the video to share part of that experience with others.

Automotive Enthusiast:
I am not exactly sure how I ended up an automotive enthusiast, but I have a great respect for classic cars and trucks. I envy the gearheads, as I would like to have the skill set to restore and rebuild classic vehicles like some do.
Fitness Junkie
Most people would say I am a fitness junkie: I wake up five days a week at 4:45 am to hit an early morning workout. I enjoy a wide range of workout activities including running, swimming, and lifting. More recently I have incorporated group fitness classes including Synergy 360, Bootcamp, and Yoga into my routine as the group setting pushes my physical abilities.

Hunting & Fishing
This is definitely an inherited hobby passed down by my father and grandfather, who were both avid sportsmen. . They taught me the skills necessary to be able to provide for a family one day in the event of a disaster. I look forward to passing on those skills to my own children someday as well. There is something inherently soothing about having the ability to live without a grocery store. In addition to the survival skills, I enjoy the camaraderie with my hunting/fishing buddies and I generally love spending time outside.
Dog Training
Growing up as a child I was never an animal fan. I seemed to be allergic to almost all animals that walk the planet. However, my opinion of animals changed after I met my wife. She had recently brought a Goldendoodle named Theo into her home and we instantly became best friends...that is until he thought my leg was a fire hydrant in the kitchen. While he is man’s best friend, I work on teaching him tricks almost daily. Currently, I have taught him how to sit, stand, shake, fetch, high five, lie down, roll over, shoot the dog, go to bed, jump, spin, crawl and at the moment that is the current list. However, soon he will know even more.
